Could Alice Equalize Student Learning?

pdf Alka Harriger. Alice Symposium, Duke University, Durham, NC, 2009.

This research looks at teacher reactions to their experiences of teaching Alice in the classroom. English students were more engaged and loved presenting their storytelling work in new and creative ways, computing students were also more engaged and were able to remember words and letters through animations, math students gained an instantaneous understanding of word problems, Spanish students listened to native speakers’ voices incorporated into Alice worlds, and Science students were the most impacted as they learned the Bohr Model of electrons and a 100% level of understanding of Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion.
